What a chalet on Mallorca is
In Spanish usage, every detached residential house with its own plot is called a chalet – regardless of architectural style. On Mallorca you find classic Mediterranean chalets with arches and terracotta roofs as well as modern cubic homes. The line to a villa is fluid; a chalet is usually a little smaller, less representative, but more everyday-friendly.

The residential areas (urbanizaciones) around Cala d'Or, Cala Llombards, Portocolom and Cala Figuera, plus the quiet edges of Santanyí, Ses Salines and Llucmajor. Very broad range. Smaller chalets in residential estates start around EUR 600,000, higher-quality ones with pool and garden between EUR 900,000 and 2 million. Premium seaside locations can be far above that.
