About the property

Description

The townhouse sits on a quiet residential street just behind the centre of Felanitx. Behind the modest natural-stone façade you find a house carefully renovated in 2024 - the original substance kept, daily life working in modern fashion. The stone staircase runs through the house as a calm anchor. Mallorcan natural stone walls, old wooden beams and traditional floor tiles give the interior its history. Earth tones, carefully chosen materials and the interplay of wood, stone and steel create a warm atmosphere without becoming decorative. Across roughly 200 square metres, living, sleeping and working areas spread over several floors. The rooms are bright, the routes short. Underfloor heating provides warmth in winter while the thick walls keep the house comfortably cool in summer. Outside, an inner courtyard extends the living space - classically Mallorcan, protected and surprisingly quiet for the town setting. A place to have breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening after a day at the market. For you, if you like Mallorca in the village - with short routes, plenty of substance and a house that carries the story of its place forward.

Location

Location

Felanitx lies in the south-east of Mallorca, a historic market town of about 18,000 inhabitants. The quiet residential streets just behind the town centre have wide pavements, old plane trees and natural-stone façades. You live in the middle of things and still quietly. A few minutes on foot take you into the town centre with the Iglesia de Sant Miquel, the Plaça de Sa Font and Carrer Major. On Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. the weekly market turns the whole centre into one of the liveliest stages on the island - stalls with fruit, cheese, wine, olive oil, flowers, fabrics and crafts. Cafés, tapas bars, bakeries, pharmacies and small boutiques are all within walking distance. For families, there are several public schools (CEIP and IES), kindergartens and the municipal health centre. International schools such as Eurocampus in Palma are reachable in 45 minutes. High above the town sits the Santuari de Sant Salvador, a 14th-century pilgrimage church with a wide panoramic view to the coast. Felanitx is also known for its wine-making (bodegas nearby) and traditional pottery. The sea is close. Portocolom with its natural harbour, the long promenade and the Far de Portocolom lighthouse lies about 10 minutes by car. Cala Marçal, Cala Sa Nau and Cala d'Or are 10 to 15 minutes away. Golfers find the Vall d'Or Golf course in 15 minutes. Palma airport is around 45 to 50 minutes away, the city centre about 50 minutes. Felanitx is Mallorca with substance. Mornings with a coffee on the Plaça, midday at the market, evenings with tapas on Carrer Major or up on the roof terrace.
