Es Llombards lies in the south-east of Mallorca, a small, quiet village with a few hundred inhabitants between fields, dry-stone walls and pines. The pace here is slower, the houses are built of light sandstone, and on the village square with the Iglesia de Sant Domingo people meet for a coffee in the evening. Narrow country lanes lead from the village out into the fields - rural, quiet and yet just a few minutes from everything. The Cala Llombards bay is about five minutes away by car. Fine sand, turquoise water, tall cliffs and the chiringuito right on the beach make it one of the loveliest family coves in the region. The iconic Caló des Moro and Cala s'Almunia can be reached along the coastal path or in a few minutes by car. In the village itself you find the S'Era restaurant, a small grocery store and the bakery. Santanyí is only about five to eight minutes away. The lively market town offers its weekly market every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. around the Plaça Major, boutiques, bakeries, pharmacies, wine and olive-oil shops, the health centre (Centre de Salut) and restaurants around the Iglesia de Sant Andreu. For families, Santanyí offers the public primary school CEIP Santanyí and several kindergartens. International schools such as Eurocampus in Palma are reachable in 45 to 60 minutes. The Mondragó natural park - a few minutes away by car - holds quiet coves, pine forests and walking trails. The harbour of Portopetro with Es Bergant and La Caracola by the water is a good place for warm evenings. On Sundays it is worth heading to the weekly market in Felanitx.
