In Spanish, both are casa de pueblo . In English we separate by place: townhouse in larger towns like Santanyí, Felanitx, Llucmajor – village house in smaller villages like Cas Concos, S'Alqueria Blanca, Es Carritxó. The architecture is often the same; the rhythm of daily life is different.

The condition of the sandstone walls, the state of the wooden-beam roof, moisture in the ground floor (common in houses right on the street), clear permits for patio extensions and attic conversions.
